Just saw 2 people who were obviously living in their Bonneville. I know that one hot chick on youtube did it but have you ever known anyone reduced to those straits?

All i can say is that going from space to space everyday sucks. You keep a rotation of multiple spots to not attract any attention. My anxiety grew exponentially hoping I'd never get caught. Never did. But its amazing how resourceful you become when faced with adversity and not depending on others for help. Just never look down at anyone, you never know what they've been through or how much shite luck they've had thrown their way.

I had an employee who was living out of his car. I noticed he would always come in early and spend time taking a sink bath in the restroom so I asked if his water had been shut off (not uncommon considering I employed college students). He told me he was living in his van. So I let him sleep in my office, which only had a recliner. My wife and I would do his laundry so he wouldn't have to spend money at the laundry mat and bring him meals. We never invited him to our house because He told me early on that he had bouts of schizophernia and had been hospitalized for it. My wife (who is a nurse) had a doctor friend of hers set up some counseling sessions so he could get meds and therapy.
After a month and a half he'd saved up enough money to get a cheap apt, and moved on to a better paying job with a career path.
He seems to be doing well from the random text messages I get from him. I imagine he would have lived out of his van for the same amount of time and still moved on to better things, but it was nice to help him out. Plus, I didn't want to be on the bad side of a schizophrenic. And at least he didn't have to worry about cops running him out of parking lots and such.

Your post and Chief's post are a dose of reality. And well told, nice job.
