On the older motors that ran with a distributor we would hold a spark plug wire with one hand and let the spark exit our other hand to the body of the car.
Also had a telephone magneto that would light you up.

When I was a teen, we were installing an electric fence. I had the roll of wire around my shoulder as we installed it. Mom plugged in the charger. It was exciting.

probably 20x as a kid for putting metal shite into 1960s 2-hole non-grounded outlets and before GCFI existed.
as an adult? 1 out of every 5 outlets bites me i try to swap without shutting off the breaker first.
God: How did you get here?
Me: Laziness.

Yep, a couple limes. Always touch it with the back of your hand, if you’re checking for a live line.

My great grandfather died that way, working on a power line back in the early 1950s in upstate New York . The other guy on his crew touched a wire and he was holding him. He died immediately and the other guy died a few days later. Terrible. My mom was deeply traumatized by that as he was the glue.

I was taking apart a camera with built in flash and didn’t really know what a capacitor did. I got popped pretty good when I tried to pry the capacitor off with a screwdriver.

My cousins and I played tag with cattle prods back in the day.

Yeah I had my bell rung when picking up old Christmas lights and didn’t realize the bulb on one was broke.
Was just really tired afterward.

Nobody posting in this thread or able to post in this thread has been "electrocuted".
You have been shocked.
Electrocuted/Electrocution = Shocked to Death.

Does an electric fence count? Then hundreds of times. Many on purpose

Have you ever been electrocuted?
Electric shock refers to a non-fatal electrical injury, whereas electrocution describes a fatal electrical injury.
Electrocute is derived from "electro" and "execution," but it is also used for accidental death.

Lightening struck near a metal fence I was touching. The current travelled along the spaghetti piping on the fence, and it kicked me back onto the ground.
Lightening made me nervous for a few years.

But I've been shocked by 110v & 220v more than I care to admit.

accidentally touched the cattle wire around my grandparents yard a few times growing up. It ran off a car battery on a constant trickle charge. We got used to it.
Worked for an electrician one summer during college. They kept me away from the serious stuff but let me wire outlets and fixtures with some supervision. Got "bit" a few times by the 120v circuits. I did see a guy get electrocuted when they were setting a pole light that for some reason had to be "hot" while it was being installed. Actually saw the arc jump out and hit the guy in the chest. They did CPR until the ambulance came but they couldn't revive him.

Never been hit by lightning, but hit a tree right next to our deck about 30 feet away.
So loud! and blew a chunk of the tree off and part of the deck 16x8 support beam. Also took out some deck lights. That was scary for sure.

Shock wise been hit a ton by 120 and a below. 250 DC hurt pretty bad, luckily that hit was a grazing injury from faulty equipment.
Worst by far was a static ground line on an air blast circuit breaker that came loose in a 500kV switchyard. It swung into me while I was leaning against a Gator UV. Didn't see it get loose. Luckily wind blew it away from me.
Seen some messed up things in my line of work that resulted in death though. 13.6kV is not kind to the human body.

Once. Replacing the belt on a dryer and forgot to unplug it. Touched the motor wrapping the belt around it and it bit the hell out of me.
