Have you ever been denied a job for an arrest record?

I can't imagine how it is for people with some serious felony type arrests that turned out bogus and weren't convicted. Anyone fall in that category? I haven't been denied but I have two arrests/citations that were thrown out. I'd be pissed to miss out on a job just because of something I was accused of.

I don't think you can be denied on an arrest record, only convictions.

Well I have never done anything so far that has warranted an arrest if that answers your question.
In all honesty though, it is total crap that a situation like that could occur (I have no idea whether it can). Whatever happened to innocent UNTIL PROVEN guilty?

I was raised in a white, upper middle class household.

We don't get arrested.

I was denied a job because of family members arrest.

Dad has a DWI and brother has a DWI and Possession charge. Since substance abuse is hereditary I was deemed to at risk for it was denied the job

Me too. Cops in my town would rather bust school age kids at house parties drinking beer than crack heads stealing car stereos. Guess that's officer discretion.

Actually, it's the opposite these days. It's called diversifying the workforce regardless of who is the best candidate.

Only poor people get convicted. The rest of us hire good lawyers.

Poor people problems.
