Maybe so but do those customers have to wait in line at the gate?
Boarding in CLT, yes he would have. It's only for transfers in ATL or to their car service.

" they let him off the plane first and onto the tarmac where he jumped into a Porsche and drove away."
maybe, but this did not happen

Was bar tending downtown, I notice a limo pull up and park in the right lane, blocking traffic. Bunch of dudes get out. I was immediately predisposed to thinking they were douches due to blocking traffic. Come in and one guy orders a bunch of shite for all of them. I serve the drinks, tell him how much. He looks at me stupid and asks to run a tab. I say sure I just need a credit card. He didn't actually say "do you know how I am", but he was fuming. One of his entourage smiles, says I got it and gives me a card.
They left a little while later and a co worker says "hey Jim haslett was here?" It was a few days after he got the job. I had no idea. He was a dick.

That's how they handle the Porche transfers. I've been on flights with HVCs and my friend that's a Diamond has been provided the service. The Agent steps onto the plane once the door is opened and asks for Mr/Ms XYZ. They're obviously seated right there in F. They grab their things, down the steps at the end of the jetbridge and into the Porche.

You're not legit until a supervisor hears your name on the radio and shows up to bring you home

I know how VIP transfers/handling takes place, just pointing out, for the third time, that Cam was not allowed to go down on to the ramp, get in a Porsche and drive away, which is what the poster said

Is this the old Shaw guy? I was coming to post about this. One of my buddies was drunk in a suite at Tiger Stadium and made a comment of some sort to Berhard's wife that he took offense to. A kerfuffle ensued. He told them something to the effect of "Do you know who I am? I could have you killed." I wasn't there and am paraphrasing, but I've heard the story from more than one of them who was. I did see the follow email to the guy who had the suite. Great stuff!

Jim Bernhard asked me that once. Then he asked me what I did for him. He's a complete a-hole.
I got asked that by him as well when I was playing golf at CCL back in college. The dick wanted to play through with a 5-8 group party and we had a 5 or so group as well. We were playing with my fraternity brothers dad as well as my dad. Complete dick.
I'll add we were all pretty scratch players and not playing slow by any means.

Oh. Is this where you're nitpicking that the poster said Cam drove away vs. him riding away?

Yeah. He's notorious for saying that shite.

Both parties got out of their vehicle. Guy 1 was like: "What the frick are you doing? I was turning into the parking spot and then you come out of nowhere and tried to pull in and I almost hit you. Why were you trying to get into my parking spot?" Guy 2 was like: "You parking spot.

What the frick? He "drove away" as in he got in the car and left. If we want to go English Major then I should have said "he rode away"?
OK. Let me rephrase my previous musing to better represent the facts of the situation.
The previously unidentified gentleman of color departed the aircraft prior to the other passengers at which point he was allowed to utilize the stairs of the jetway to transition himself to the tarmac at which point he entered a vehicular conveyance (I believe it was a Porsche automobile). Said vehicular conveyance, driven by persons unknown, then traveled from the area under its own power.
ETA: That should be a reply to the dickbags that haven't seen this happen at ATL. Not you.

I've never had that happen, but I have had several people tell me "they know the owner " in my own business.

I live near him. He has been super-friendly every interaction that I have had with him but I have heard horror stories and seen that he can be a POS.

1) Cam Newton has to cut in line? I guess.
2) You didn't recognize the 6'-6" high, moon pie face of Cam Newton? I don't watch NFL football. Only know his name because he was in a Super Bowl.
3) The people behind you let him in line but didn't say anything that might have provided a clue to his identity, like maybe, "Hi, Cam. We're huge fans. Can we have an autograph"? They didn't say a word.
4) When they let him off the plane first in ATL, allowed him to exit the jetway onto the tarmac, and then into a Porsche; no explanation was given? That isn't how it works.
5) Despite the secrecy, a flight attendant called you out about the incident at the CLT gate that he/she didn't witness? Secrecy? It's a service they offer.
Yeaaaah, I'm gonna have to call bullshite on this story. You would be wrong.

Yes, I worked at Home Depot in college. A woman was upset because a sale item wasn't in stock. She pulled the "my husband is a lawyer" phrase as if it would magically make the item appear. I informed her if that's the case, he'll understand the disclaimer that this particular item is not guaranteed to be in stock. Seemed so petty to me to get upset about, but it offered insight into how she coasted through life on the coattails of others.
