Los Angeles.

It's just basically a giant Baton Rouge with even worse traffic and fake and snobbish people everywhere. If it didn't have the beaches and beautiful scenery, it wouldn't be worth talking about as a place to visit.

LA for sure. The people there largely suck and it's nothing but a giant strip mall.

I don't really like Miami or L.A. as much as some of the people on this board.

Probably the two most hated cities on this board....

Probably, but they definitely have fans as well. Several posters that live in California have said that they don't understand the board's love affair with San Diego, and that L.A. is much better.

I hadn't read the thread when I posted, but I guess a lot of people agree with me.

I'm not going to say L.A. is much better, but San Diego is a little bit overrated by this board.

While I don't disagree with you one bit, calling it a giant Baton Rouge made me

CHARLESTON easily takes the cake.

you had to bold and caps your statement to make up for it being dumb.

it's clear most people in this thread don't grasp the concept of "overrated." eta;. especially when it comes to places to live.

i guess also this is a dumb inquiry overall. a lot of what goes into my "rating" of a place has to do with personal circumstances and preferences. i don't consider for one second what other people think of a place.

I love San Diego, but the best part of that area is along the coast going north of the city

I am not sure what part of LA you are referring to. I promise you that if you lived where I live, you would love it. 1/4 mile to the beach and I run the strand along the ocean every morning. Happy hours at Hermosa Beach. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, etc. And a small town feel. I visited a year ago and made it my mission to move out here...and here I am.

I plan to move out to Carlsbad eventually, but may have to stay closer to LA for work

El Segundo must have improved one heck of a lot over the last 20 years.

I like Old Town San Diego, but the city by in large is completely overrated. That being said, I personally like the surrounding area in Los Angeles county. Not necessarily the city itself, though.

Agreed Daytona is horrible, it's a complete waste of time, seriously frick that shithole.

I don't doubt Atlantic city is crappy now I heard it's been dying out over time. Vegas or bust baby Old Vegas FTW IMO.

It was a running gag on Sanford and Son

"These towels are so dirty they look like you stole them from a Motel 6 in El Segundo"

etc etc etc...

Does St. Thomas qualify in this discussion?

I like cruises and the beaches of St. Thomas are wonderful, but Charlotte Amalie is one slum and poor looking town.

If we're going international, Belize is a shithole.
