Has anyone ever spoken to an Amazon customer service rep?

I have an unusual problem.

My wife bought me a gift of one item, Amazon charged her for only that one item, but their warehouse sent me one CASE... some warehouseman or robot was confused by the box, I guess.

The mix up only became apparent when we opened it. Got twelve instead of one. Can't find on Amazon how to deal with the situation.

Chatted with a customer service rep once and ended up getting stuff for free from them.

Great customer service in my 2 experiences

They will probably just tell you to keep it. Nice score! What are you going to do with your newfound wealth?

Yep.

Actually you can live chat them...that's probably the easiest way to talk to them.

Because you can write everything and have them communicate to that. Then save your entire transcript.

Go on their website and click on help button. You may have to log into her account. Their reps are great.

Yeah, depending on the value of the item, they'll tell you to keep it.

I ordered a coaxial combiner, realized I didn't need it, and tried to return it the same day it arrived. Went through the return process and at the end it told that I didn't need to send the item back and a return would be processed to my credit card within 3-5 days. The splitter was like $7.

Yeah, I talked to them once. On prime day, I never got my firestick 2 days later. Called them up, they apologized even though it was stuck in shipping hell. Overnighted me a news one and told me to keep the first one if it ever come in. Got both of them the next day

Do you have a long track record with them? Amazon has absolutely amazing customer service. I've probably placed 150 orders or so with them since mid-2008 (they were the most reliable/fastest shippers to APO/FPO overseas) and on the handful of occasions I've needed something remedied (like 5 in total), it's been as painless as imaginable. Give them a call. They track customer activity very closely and do give priority to regulars. Bonus if you're prime or better.

I don't understand how you can't get in touch with one. Their customer service is amazing, no bullshite robots on the phones or long wait times.

You have no legal obligation to return the merchandise.

I wish they would use the postal service. I ordered two items last week, one from Ebay and one from Amazon. Ebay used the postal service and it's already here. Amazon used UPS and it's still in transit.
