Yes. After I graduated LSU, hung around BR for a few months and just said screw it and sold what I had and packed my car up with clothes and moved to Las Vegas.

Rented a place online before I left. Got some BS jobs at first to hold me over until I could find something I liked.

Ended up staying in Vegas for 6 years and met my wife. Don't regret it one bit, in fact, I regret taking a job back in BR. I should of stayed out that way. Looking to move back early next year.

Made some good friends as well that I still see and keep in touch with all the time.

Wow you and me both

Like you I want to move back, but under different circumstances.

I could have stayed there until I found another job but the job market was so bad when I was there and I felt it would be best to move back to Texas and regroup. I almost took a front desk job at the Aria so I could stay there but didn't, I wanted to pursue my career. Right now I am in my field of TV/Radio in Iowa. Fortunately the broadcast company I work for has a station in Las Vegas

No, but my brothers been doing that for the last 15 years, every six months or so. He's a freelance writer, so that helps him pay the bills in between jobs. He's been a tour guide all over Europe, a ski instructor in Colorado, web designer in Austin. Right now he's assisting some sculptor in NYC. Super interesting life, but I couldn't do it due to wife and kids. I envy him though. If you can do it, go for it IMO.

He's going to be that guy who dies and is all alone except for nieces and nephews who barely know him.

I didn't have a job when I moved to Jersey, but then again I also moved in with my future wife so I didn't have to worry about a place to live. It was planned that I wouldn't work right away. Moved up right before thanksgiving and started working at end of January

He's actually starting to panic about that now. He's been talking about settling down for a few years now, but he keeps on going.

A close family member of mine may be getting a job in Ireland in the next few weeks. If they do I may quit my job and head out there for a year or two. Not sure what I'd do for work but something will come up.

No, moving someplace with no plan at all always seemed like a dumb thing to do to me.

I honestly have no idea what you would do with this job or the best places to work with those qualifications, but my advice for you if you want to pack up and move is to not half arse it. Look for jobs overseas or across the country so you aren't constantly bargaining with yourself to drive 3-5 hours to go hang out with your old friends

I left in 09. Had a really good job that I enjoyed, but chased the money back to BR. Was happier in Vegas making less but looking back with tips and stuff I made was making pretty good money but for some reason the crazy schedules and weird hours were getting to me. Thought I wanted a normal 9-5, now that is killing me. Haha

I really enjoyed Vegas and miss it. If you can control yourself in Vegas, it really is a nice place to live. Lots of stuff to do outside the drinking/gambling.

I did...moved from L.A. to Boston in 2008. Had a place to live and found a job within a month.

2010 moved back to L.A. with no job and stayed with friends. Had a job in a couple of weeks.

Good luck

agro/petrochemicals!!!

Houston has the largest chemical industry in North America...there are all kinds of chemical jobs.

There is also the very large medical center present. Your micro skills would probably land you some sort of position until you could get a career job.

Head to the Dakotas. Economy is booming and it's flooded with high class whores following the money.

The plan would be to move somewhere in hopes of finding something to pay the bills rather quickly and then looking for better jobs. There would be a plan, just no job when I got there.

my wife and I are planning a jump to Boston next year too. I'm trying to get a job before we move but that's looking like it may not happen.
