wall st. and corporate crooks stealing your money, and then getting bailed out by you after getting busted. Rinse and repeat.

As long as your attention is diverted to Bruce Jenner and the gays it's all good!!

It's divide and conquer by the way if you are trying to use that silly point. LOL

American military is the most badass on the planet.

American society is the softest on the planet.

I look forward to the day when it all comes crashing down like a house of cards. Maybe then Americans and the western world won't worship at the altar of mindless consumerism anymore and focus on more important reasons for living this life on this planet. I just have a deep feeling we weren't put here to consume and keep up with the Joneses. That is a late nineteenth and twentieth century mindset.

is this where we all sit around a bitch and complain about the state of things while all being wealthy enough and stable enough to be bitching and complaining on the internet from the comfort of our homes?

No, you are commenting on your perception of what is, which is entirely rooted in your worldview. Christians have a hard time separating that from reality most of the time. The map does not equal the territory, in other words. But that is true for everyone to some degree based on nature and nurture.

A simple reading of this entire thread would reveal they your synopsis of my opinion is false. If your opinion were correct, I'd be the only person saying it's sinking, which clearly isn't the case.

For every person saying it is sinking, there is one or more saying it isn't. Who's right is what I'm asking, I guess. Your worldview, belief system etc. is completely shaped for the most part by the time you are six or seven years old. Most humans don't transcend that kind of conditioning. Each person's perception is that person's reality. But it is not true reality. No human has a grasp on that. It really is just each person's opinion when you really boil it down. And you know what they say about opinions.

My only hope is that you one day realize how tucking stupid you sound, but I'm not overly optimistic about that.

If everything you said is true, then you too would be a product of your environment right? That is unless, and let me guess, you are one of those few which you described as being able to transcend his conditioning?
If not, why try and diminish my opinion of the worlds standing when your opinion is every bit as tainted?

Yep.
They must not have been doing much praying up in the Baton Rouge area in the late 80's and early 90's because there was a lot of bad shite going on.

Mine is just as skewed. But people can come to transcend their conditioning and upbringing and see things from a more holistic perspective. I don't see the transgender thing as good or bad, it just is what it is. In any population of human society you are going to have a subset of people who feel that they were born in the wrong gendered body. It has nothing to do with the downfall of that particular society. Most societies in the past collapsed due to geopolitical or economic reasons, not sexual. Religious conditioning at a young age shape the sexual opinions and mores of most people on the planet.

Read the thread.
As long as you are not sitting around reading the scary internets, watching the hysteria driven news, and getting caught up on the BS chain emails, this country is a pretty damn good place to be living in these days.

It is what you make it. Seize the day and all of that good stuff. Go out and live the good life. You are free to get as much education as you want and go to church as much as you want. Do what you have to to make your life better.

Statistically, crime was much worse during that period than it is now. But don't let facts get in the way or anything.
