And.........the snowflake invasion continues.

Carmen Farias is suing SoulCycle and instructor Angela Davis — who is a bit of a celebrity herself — for gross negligence, according to the complaint filed May 31 in L.A. County Superior Court. She says the lack of instruction, design of the bike, volume of the music and darkness of the room contributed to injuries that continue to cause her physical and mental pain and suffering.

The momentum of the flywheel kept the pedals turning and her left ankle was repeatedly dislocated, she claims, leaving her "catastrophically injured."

As class began, Davis turned the music up and the lights down, so the room “was cast into a shadowy darkness."

During the ride, Farias could hear instructors “mocking some of the other riders” because they weren’t keeping up with the pace. When her legs began to weaken and she tried to stop pedaling, she says Davis ridiculed her for slowing down and someone — possibly Davis — barked at the riders that, “We don’t take breaks.”
I would love to have a personal trainer who mocked me and made fun of me.

I've been to spin with my wife, the bikes free spin if you stop pedaling just like a regular bike.

Why are there so many stupid, unguided, clueless, cry babies on this earth? I hate how many stories like this pop up every minute now.

Carmen I'd like to show you this document, we'll mark it Exhibit "A".
Carmen, do you recognize this documents?
I do.
What is this?
"It looks like a 'do you even lift' flow chart."

Davis and her fellow instructors failed to follow SoulCycle’s own policies and procedures, which require a 15-minute introduction to spinning and instruction on how to properly and safely use the bike and what to do in response to fatigue
I saw this and if the Spin class is supposed to do this and they did not, then maybe.
But who the frick does not know how to stop a stationary bike? Stop peddling. I am sure it is a free wheel sprocket.
Also if your do not know how to get into the peddles maybe you should ask how to get out of them.
I am so sick of people blaming others for their stupidity.

You do strap your feet in pretty tight and the pedals do have a "kick" when you stop from sheer momentum. I can see where someone that was inexperienced and exhausted could injure herself.
But the no breaks thing is bullshite. No trainer is going to enforce the no breaks hype. If you're feeling light-headed, cramping, etc., get off the bike, walk outside, get some water and come back when you feel better.

frick the lawyer who took that case.
is this the same Angela Davis who was president of the USA communist party in 1970? She must be 80 or 90. How can she be driving her bicycle class so hard?
This is a big story if Davis is in such good shape she can drive young people too hard.
