Guy proposes to his girlfriend after she hears for first time with implant

SIAP. This guy wins at proposing imo. Some comments I read say he was being selfish by proposing then, that he overshadowed her moment of hearing with the proposal. I think it was an incredibly sweet gesture on his part. The girl looks pretty excited about it as well. What do you think, selfish or job well done?

Pretty crazy. I have never had any interaction with anyone who has newly received a cochlear implant. She speaks surprisingly well and clearly, and it has to be an amazing and overwhelming feeling to hear words as opposed to having to read lips and use sign. I think it was a well-times proposal and she seemed to agree. Good for both of them

More than likely she lost her hearing later in life(accident, medical condition, etc), so she already knew how to talk.
