My father was USCG for 30 years..I showed him this about 5 yeara ago, he laughed his arse off at how ill equipt and sea-faring knowledge these fat fricking hippies truly were.

Whales should be treated like any other natural resource. If they can be sustainably harvested and the meat/blubber doesn't go to waste there's nothing unethical about killing them any more so than reeling in a fish. The whale species that the Japanese target have growing populations and are not at risk of becoming extinct. This idea that all whales are carte blanch sacred and shouldn't be killed is just kind of silly IMO.
