Depends on the bride and how many she has.
I have 2 brothers so mine were my brothers and my best man. Left it at that.

I had 4 guys and that was my limit. If you need a panoramic shot to get the whole wedding party then that's way too damn many. Plus it makes the wedding too long and takes away from reception time.

Girl in my family married a weird dude who had one friend, but she wanted the picture book look. So I and two cousins had to stand in for this guy. We met him twice.
He had a brother (best man) and a school buddy. But there were 6-7 on either side.
