Assuming you have a big family and a lot of close friends, when do you draw the line on how many groomsmen is too many?
Asking for anyone who has had experience with this.
Who did you leave out? How butthurt did they get?

If it gets too big, cut everyone but the best man and maid of honor.

Match the number of bridesmaids.
Tell your fiancé to set a limit.

Plenty of people... they all understood and there was no butthurt.

The first question is how many bridesmaids does the old lady have?

I had 10, zero fricks given. 3 of them were brothers, I couldn't have cut any of the ones that weren't related to me or my wife. We have a pretty close knit group though.

Tell the soon to wife to pick no more than 5 bridesmaids

8 should be each person's limit. And even that is pushing it.

Jesus man 10? I have 8 and wish I could be in the 4-6 range.

When I was married my wife had 6 bridesmaids and I only had four friends that I was close enough to actually want in my wedding, she protested some but we came up with a solution.

That's what I did. My wife started at 6 then worked her way up to 10.

And what arbitrary reason can you give for this limit?

How bad would it be if one was chosen as someone's best man, but doesn't even include the other guy in his own wedding?
