Well yea. Gretna and metairie are both better than baton rouge. That place is a ghetto wasteland with all of the shops and mall 30 minutes driving from the residential areas.

Very easy to get to airline or Palmetto and then on to earhart/I-10/ washington to Uptown from Bonnabel. You just need to get to Canal then head down Carrolton (Metaire canal and carrolton) then take Freidrichs to Northline/Palmetto.
Very good route into the city. You can at that point hop on airline, or jump on one of the many surface street throughways that converge in the area.

I dont understand why anyone would want to go to uptown? The trafgic is terrible and the streets are under construction. Not really much to do outside of a few good restaurants and antique shops.
