You seem to get incredibly mad about this.

From CNN article

quote:

family members were aware of drug activity in the home, "they kept the children out of sight in a different room while any of these going-ons were happening

What was that about accountability?

What drugs? The heavy shite and the associated violence started hitting the US after the 60's.

- really the violence, there were always drugs they just started to become more mainstream and the violence really come on later.

I have disdain for people that think their profession commands some form of irreverence from an entire nation. Your self-indulgence is grandiose, like that of the military--I am not surprised.

"Tell me how society was so different then that the US constitution should be promptly discarded in favor of police blowing doors open with little investigation, violating age old doctrines?"

At $34K, you can become a cop who will change international standards of law enforcement with your bachelors degree in French lit.

Could not agree more. Summed up personally. Do you mind if I use this?

I told my wife if something like this happened to us and our kids I wouldn't say a word to the police, jury, anyone working for the state. I would keep a list of everyone involved and dish out my own justice at some point in the future. The state only protects itself. I will only be doing the same.

Do you live in a house with a meth peddler? You probably don't have to worry about this if you dont

That piece you quoted from CNN is the words of the police chief. He also claims they had no way of knowing there could be a baby inside. I mean, we all know that had they watched the house they never would have seen evidence of children inside.

He also said the following in a June story

quote:

The information we had from our confidential informant was there was no children in the home. We always ask; that determines how we enter the house and the things we do.... Did we go by our training, did we go by the intelligence? Given the same set of circumstances, with the same information dealing with a subject who has known gun charges on him, who is selling meth, they [the deputies and officers] would go through the same procedures... Nothing would change.... Had no way of knowing the child was in the house. The little baby was in there, didn't deserve this. These drug dealers don't care."

And this was in the article today

quote:

In hindsight, Terrell said at the time, officers would've conducted the raid differently had they known there was a child inside the home, but there was no sign of children during the alleged drug purchase that prompted the raid. "We might have gone in through a side door," he said. "We would not have used a flash bang."

Unless you're a ninety-two year old black woman in suburban Atlanta living next to a crack house and the cops blow your door down and execute you.

So had they known there were children inside, they would have done things differently? Makes sense

How long had the children been living there?

That's why I said probably. You don't think there's a better chance of this happening if you live in a house with a dealer?
