I have a What Would You Do scenario.

long story short, my good friend from high school, best man in my wedding, and his wife have been good friends of ours for 20 years.

they have always been a laid back conservative, churn going couple, however over the past 3-4 years they have gotten really into church and VERY conservative.

they post almost daily bible scripture, prayers, and anti gay stuff on Facebook. When we talk he wants to talk politics and how we need a good old white christian in office and thinks all gays and people who smoke pot are going to hell.

its just gotten so bad that i don't know if i can be friends with him and her anymore. That's all they talk about- politics or shoving their southern Baptist shite down my throat.

im a moderate republican, but damn this is getting old. how should i handle this? we use to be very close but I just dont see us continuing this way

Well you say y'all have been friends for 20 years, so it's safe to say that you're an adult - at least in a legal sense. So be an adult about it, tell them how you feel about the situation, and if it persists anyway then cut the cord.

I can handle different views with friends. Most of my friends are pretty diverse when it comes to politics and religion.

But I don't know if I could handle one of them constantly preaching to me about it.

Debate can be fun among friends if everyone is rational and keeps emotion out of it, but often times the hard leaning right or left people just can't do that.

I'd probably slowly start separating myself from him.

No, I'm really bored. Serious lull at work. Used to cruise the PT board more but I haven't been able to tolerate those retards lately.

He is gay for worrying about what other dudes do with their dicks. Also, Christianity preaches love, especially for sinners. He is not a true Christian.

Unfollow them on Facebook. I recently did this with one of my outlaws. You only need to be blunt once with someone publicly and that will end any future confusion. Either they will bolt or you will.

I don't talk religion or politics with my friends. That increases the chances that they stay as my friends.

Debate, discuss, be courteous. If he keeps on, then tell him what you honestly think. Talk to him as a friend and explain your position. Tell him that you are open to discussing certain things but not in the abstract like this. Tell him you want to be friends and not just an object for him to spew all of his religio-political stuff at.

Disagree with him and he will either stop talking to you or agree to disagree. Problem solved.
