Mates, is there a way to get a lofty deal on a rental car at fair rates for a period of only 3-4 months? I am going to be going into corporate headquarters for 1Q 2017 for my new job and I don't want to roll in with a Cadillac or G-Wagon or something that winds up clashing with the culture of the company (or is nicer than the billionaire CEO's car - what if he's one of those annoying Sam Walton types who drives a 1984 Buick because it "gets the job done").

So ideally I'd like to rent an Impala or something for my time in Detroit and then roll back to my own stomping grounds and upgrade to the Caddy or E-Class.

Would I go negotiate with a dealer regarding this? Or is there an app or site that I'm not familiar with which offers decent prices on short-team leases?

TIA, mates

I would look for a short term lease rather than a rental car.

only idiots care about what other people drive.

Renting a car for that long just isn't smart

I'll rent you a new Ford Taurus for 10k a month. 3 month minimum and that must be paid up front.

Upvote. So tired and the antithesis of what he wants to achieve.

Our corporate rate for a month rental is $450 for a full-size with coverage included. And with National I could easily get upgraded to a bigger vehicle.

I'd wager that car payment, taxes, fees, insurance, and deprecation are around that amount if not more a month.

Go to a used car lot and negotiate something with the owner. I'm sure they're happy to get revenue if certain inventory has been sitting around.
