Dont bother ziplining - been to 3 courses out there and they all blow.
Did you do the ziplining in Princeville or just in Maui? I had a good time doing the one on the north shore of Kauai but it was also my first time doing it, so who knows

Hawaii Food Tours
We did the "Hole in the Wall" tour in Oahu and really enjoyed it. They get you out of the more touristy areas. Part of the tour was in Chinatown and we used the experience to go back a couple of days later. Probably wouldn't have found the restaurants on our own.

We ate at Mama's Fish House which was very good and had a cool view (get a reservation ahead)
Nice
Was going to tell this to the honeymoon guy. It's expensive but it pretty damn good. The real treat is the dessert at the end. The Black Pearl or something like that it was called was one of the best things I've ever eaten
Other than that, people gave good recommendations for Maui. Also, they have The Ultimate Guidebook for each island. The Kauai one is best from what I've seen, but they all have great info and will get you to places you wouldn't know about.

At Awa'Awa Puhi,Did you stop at the split rail fence to view or walk all the way out on that 2-4 foot wide trail to the point of the cliff? I went out there but just went slow and carefully. That is a LONG drop on either side.
Polihale Beach Park is gorgeous but like you said, it a bit off the beaten path. We actually drove through those sand roads in a Sebring convertible and made it okay. Also the best place to view the island of Niihau.
Queens bath is cool and should be great this time of year when the water is calmer. Think the # of deaths there is around 24 now. Not to alarm the OP as it is perfectly safe to swim there as long as the water is calm. Deaths occur when water is more turbulent and a big wave crashes over that outer rock (and people are standing there) and washes them out to sea.

I think the Kauai one is on its 8th or 9th edition now. It is highly recommended. It has the hidden parking area right beside Tunnels Beach to avoid that walk down from Haena Beach Park carrying your snorkel gear,etc..

The one in Princeville is really good. Think it had 9 lines total. We had a blast and have done it our last 3 times there.

Really appreciate those recs as well. I got the Ultimate Maui guidebook already and really enjoy it.
Did you end up going all the way around on the road to Hana? I've heard both sides on wherher to turn back of go all the way.
We will be staying in Kanapali when we do the road to Hana.
We will be staying in Wailea when we go to the sunrise at Haleakala.
Debating on whether to take the bike tour down it or just drive back. The future Mrs. Herg is a little timid at the prospect of downhill biking.
Eta: Sorry OP for the thread hijack. Been meaning to make a thread but figured I'd piggyback off this one. Go visit Maui while you're in Hawaii.

Yea we went past the split rail to the area below and walked slow to get there. It had a way better 360 view
