Went to Chicago years ago for a convention. Our group was treated to an event at an Irish pub called Fado (it's a chain). I found it quite enjoyable. Still there and they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Not sure if you're looking for something a little more local only, is f not here's a LINK to their site.

It's best to get there early but often times if you're not in a large group you find seats close up even minutes before first pitch due to people leaving empty spots.... haven't gone this year yet but this was as of last year.

Go catch a show at one of the theatres mentioned in the post there's always great acts around the city and the places I've gone (Vic, riviera, Aragon, congress) are really cool. Pequods is delicious but I'd recommend getting an Italian beef from portillos it's the best! Youll have a great time and maybe try to avoid leaving the loop on the green/pink lines

I prefer Malnati's if you are looking for something from one of the famous pizza places, but to each their own on this topic.

We saw a show at Second City which was awesome. Also so a much lower-scale improv show called "Thirsty" that was pretty entertaining. The cast drank the whole time and included audience participation.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is nice, and free.

If you want front row though you better plan on 3-4 hours before the game starts.

Can't we just bump this exact thread that was created a few weeks ago?

but decided to go to the Blackhawks game.

Have you been before? The atmosphere for a regular season game is awesome. For playoff games it's amazing. Be absolutely certain to get there ahead of the national anthem. Goosebumps.
