no, but he probably played on their albums, he was a studio maestro, played on all of the big star's albums in the day

ETA: might have done a little touring when Brian started towards the deep end

Probably the first song I remember learning all the words to as a little kid when it was in heavy rotation on the radio back in the early 70's. To this day when I hear it I smile remembering how proud I was.

Very sad to hear this news.

Great voice, great range.

I can remember watching some packaged country show back in the 80's and he's sitting under a tree and they announce he's going to sing Marty Robbin's El Paso.

I told my buddy nobody could do it justice like Marty. Campbell knocked it out of the park. My buddy told me I was wrong. I agreed.

Exactly.

The man was something else on the guitar. The voice was just the icing on the cake.

Alzheimers is wretched.

Yes, yes it is. If I'm ever given one wish, I'll use it for the cure.

81mg Ecotrin, daily. Fish oil also.

Thanks, OP. A great song that accurately sums up what the disease is...

I always enjoyed his music, and am saddened that his life is ending this way.

I've watched several elderly relatives go from vibrant individuals to not even knowing their own children... In the end they just wanted to die. It's sickening and has to be one of the worst diseases...without your mind, you aren't anything

Not familiar with Ecotrin, but fish oil has taken some hits recently for being overrated and not very effective. Alzheimers hits very very close to home for me, but I think my one wish would go to curing Cystic Fibrosis.

Alzheimers normally happens later in life and lots of people that get it have had good long lives. CF is an early death sentence starting at birth.
