sounds like a good line to be able to kill the snake for a badass mount/ skin

In the article, it says it is illegal to kill snakes unless you feel harmed. I know I wouldnt be in flip flops.

At that size, what are the odds it's an escaped pet?

Job well done by the guy who killed it. No way I'm letting an 8' rattlesnake "do his thing". Especially in my back yard.

One of the FB comments from the news station page.

quote:

The photo was shot in forced perspective style. The snake is closer to the camera than the man holding it on a stick. Folks, there is no need to kill our native wildlife out of fear. Snakes play a vital role in our ecosystem, we need them. Yes, even the venomous. Snake venom is used in many modern medicines. Did you know a protein in copperhead venom has been tested and proven effective against fighting breast cancer? Snakes are highly misunderstood. Please, call us if you need a snake removed.

Black suit. Bright white face. Bright red lips.

I am confused though.

I thought mimes were not allowed to talk.

I'm still going with that thing was someone's pet and was in a terrarium eating a steady diet of stray cats and kittens up until a few days ago.

Between 8-10 feet long? Ok, so he's holding it on a hook way out in front of himself. It's being held at lower chest level. The snake is about centered on the hook and each end of the snake is nowhere near the ground. Super exaggeration.

Cargo jorts: check. Wifebeater: Check. Propane tank in poorly maintained yard: Check. Just the kind of ole baw I'd expect to be annoying a snake.
