If BLM would highlight situations like this instead of rallying behind thugs shot resisting arrest while in possession of a firearm they could possibly accomplish something.
Unfortunately their chosen path of crying racism and actively carrying out ambush attacks on police officers is going to lead to more instances like this appears to be where an innocent victim was caught in the crossfire.
Cops protected and served this guy for sure. Hopefully the Miami PD will carry out a legitimate investigation and hold the parties that fricked up accountable.

They need to wait for the outcome of investigations before rallying about anything

Finally "Hands up Dont Shoot" actually comes into play.
But fr though this looks completely terrible. If the victims side of the story is correct. The cop should lose his job and face some type of charge. Not necessarily attempted murder, but something to a lesser degree.

After the ambushing of cops the last two weeks I have no problem with them showing up with weapons drawn and taking cover for a call in with someone with a gun. Once that man laid down and was saying what he was saying they could have come from behind cover and approached with guns on both until an officer reached the two guys and checked them for weapons. Once the situation was under control they could have helped him get his patient back to where he needed to be.
I'm not saying they need to be Seal team 6 all the time and that's overkill for this situation but you have to think from a officers standpoint with the last two weeks of hell they have been through. In a normal situation you holster your weapons and walk up and check the guy out. Basically theses guys freaked out on the gun call and overreacted by 1000%. Somebody should be paid and somebody should be fired.

The only thing they need to investigate is if he shot him with his hands up in the air. Should take about 2 seconds with video evidence.

Surely the offending cop just made a mistake. I mean, it can't be department policy to shoot in that situation, and no other rounds hit anyone. Seems like a negligent discharge.

If a cop or anyone else shot the man while his hands were up, then they need to be prosecuted. End of story.

He needs to find a new career path. I'm not a doctor for a reason and appearenlty the officer should not be a cop. I see this in the officers future.

I don't care, let him be accountable. We hold criminals and BLM trash so if cops screw up this badly they need to be held accountable as well even in civil suits. I all am for cops 99.9% of the time but I would actually much rather they go after the officer than the department in a situation like this.

Agree 100%. Shitty cops are the worst. We lost 4 damn good officers this weekend and who knows if the other three will go back into the line of duty.
Edit the 4th officer is fighting for his life but I'm not sure he will ever make it back to the field.

That's pretty much how it works. If you frick up on the job, the department will not go to bat for you or provide council against civil suits.

This is what I thought when I read unarmed.

Sometimes, the Police are their own worst enemy.

I'm very upset with how I'm acting right now. I just have a very hard time expressing my emotions and I can't stop from yelling. So, I'm very sorry, I don't mean to offend you Wayne, you have fricking pissed me off, but I'm just very upset right now. So, I'm going to go ahead and go, but I'm not going to stop yellin' because then that'll mean I lost the fight.

Get ready for more riots, etc....Miami cops shoot unarmed disabilities therapist
Thank god he's ok. If he was dead it could get even uglier somehow. Police need a better training program or something..why were they drawing guns in the first place? I think they need to assess the situation for themselves before busting in there with guns drawn based on some second hand info
