Most gas stations in BR and DS are between 2.64-2.75.

Last night I went to watch the game with a friend who lives a mile from Dutchtown High. I passed 5 gas stations once I left the interstate. Two had gas for 2.59. One had it for 2.64. Two had it for 2.99.

2.99??? Is gas about to spike??? Anybody live in that area? Any insight?

pretty much, even Racetrack is high. I always stop at Sams to get gas driving in to work in BR.

Has been that way since since Katrina. Evidently they are making money for them to charge what they do.

That station is one of two. The other one is closer to the school. It is very small.

40 cents higher? That should be a crime!!!!

For at least ten years, I might add. On average, ten cents higher than anywhere else in the area.

Wait, attempting to maximize profits should be a crime?

If you don't like it and don't want to pay go somewhere else.

I can think of a few places in BR which are always much higher than average--Shell station on Highland at LSU Avenue and the Chevron on Jefferson near Bocage in particular.

If people are willing to pay it instead of going 1/2 mile down the road, then can you blame the store for charging what they do? Free Enterprise at its finest.

What else would you like to make a "crime"?

What hours the biz owner should be open?
His maximum or even minimum profit margin?
Which grades of gasoline he has to offer?

Do you see what you're saying?

If a biz owner wants to charge more than the guy down the street, let him. A lot of businesses make a living off of offering a service that their clientele are willing pay, that other's aren't.

How can Target charge more than Walmart?
How can Alexanders charge more than Winn Dixie?

In general, poor people want to make higher prices a "crime". Ughh... 2.99 ??? Lock him up!!
