Do you think this happens in one day? Also, refining capacity is a huge problem now. Get the government out and these problems go away.

ETA oil could be free but gasoline is going to cost for processing and even more, the government.

You are a fricking retard if you think having 3-4 dollar a gallon gas is the only way for the economy to work.

Show me where I said that. Dumbass. You said you don't rely on others for your profession. What is it that you do?

That doesn't make fricking sense. Gas could be $20 gallon and the gas is going to last you the same number of days as if it cost you .10 cents a gallon u dipshit.

He is saying when gas is $3.75 a gallon $25 buys less gas than when gas is $1.80 a gallon.

I love the people that complain about gas prices but buy bottled water or some other trivial thing. I appreciate lower gas prices but damn, keep in mind it propels a 4000lb object at 50+mph. (1st world problems)
oh this excuse for high gas prices again.

Probably where you said he was retarded for hating O&G industry, then went on to make the claim that the economy can't survive without gas being expensive so O&G honeys can spend money.

Oil has went up steadily for the past week I believe

But it went down a lot yesterday. Supposedly it's because they're not producing "winter gas" now. I'm calling BS but that's supposed to be the story.

Yeah it's up about .20+ here too.

I don't know what is worse.

People whose life becomes worse by low oil prices are people whose life becomes worse by high gas prices.

Either way y'all should adjust so one commodity won't have such a huge impact on your life.

Nothing about my post was directed solely at the O&G field. He made the statement that due to people striking he had to pay more for gas. He also said that he shouldn't have to pay different prices for gas due to plant strikes and that he's glad he doesn't depend on other people to make money in his profession. What profession makes money without other people spending money on that company's goods/services?

I might work in the O&G field, but I'm not defending them or even speaking about them. If he's a lawyer, then he needs clients. If he's a doctor, he needs sick people. Every profession needs customer. His post indicated that he didn't need other people to spend money on his services to make money.

I did do that. Why would anyone in the US not like a US company providing jobs and income to our citizens?

People in the O&G field are retarded in the aspect that they make a lot of money, then the one month they're out of work they're broke. I'm not that guy and I'm not fully dependant on the O&G field.

You don't think it's strange that he made the statement about not depending on other people to make money? Who can do that?

I hope gas goes back up to 3.60 or higher. Especially for all of you assholes that was happy for countless jobs in the oil field lost. Your bitching about .23 cents can't wait for the melt when your back to regular price or higher.
OPEC chief said oil prices could go up past $100 a barrel.

To be happy about anyone who lost a job and has a family to support is a TPOS.
If oil went below $40 it would have a terrible ripple in our economy. That means budget cuts and budget cuts means less infrastructure medical and educational jobs etc.

No job is always safe.

What caused the gas prices to go from .89-1.09 to 3-4 bucks a gallon anyway? I don't remember

Putting my tinfoil hat on.

The answer is: Katrina/Rita/Gustav/Ike.

Starting with Katrina supply lines were damaged, ie, ports. Demand shot through the roof and the cost/gal for gas and the price/bbl went up. I know some combination of the later storms also damaged refinery capacity in Texas as well, again, the costs increased.

Personally, I believe the market proved that it could sustain a substantially higher price for gas and oil than it had and it has been held there by artificial means, ie we have always been told that we are running out of oil which is true, but has NOTHING to do with why it is so high now since the storms. Commodity trading/traders suck.
