Gosh, I sure loved that square cafeteria pizza; but in my school it wasn’t served on Friday. Friday was the worst day - fish sticks, ugh.

My mom was a school cook. They were supposed to throw all the leftover food away. It would kill her to do that, so she’d always bring a bunch of those leftover pizza rectangles home wrapped in tin foil. My buddies were envious.

If you had those things so you could reheat them enough to crisp up that crust and brown the tops of the cheese they've be amazing.

McKinley High had THE BEST yeast rolls ever the lunch ladies sold them for 10 cents a piece. Huge, hot, fluffy.
I’ve been trying to recreate them without complete success.
OH, and their beans & rice c cornbread and the mini Tobasco hot sauce bottle.

Pizza day in elementary school for us was on Wednesdays. Those were my favorite.

I think I threw up once when I took a bite of school sloppy joe. I never ate sloppy joe ever again after that.
