Wait. So they had a "draw Mohamed" contest and didn't expect to be attacked? Or were they doing it hoping they would. I mean eff Muslims that get violent over this stuff, but the whole concept seems like it was asking for it.
It was a 1st Amendment event created by the Atlas Shrugged producer to exercise that right, even if it was provoking like Charlie Hebdo. 1st prize was $10K. There weren't just Christians there. I believe I heard one woman say she was agnostic while being interviewed. There was strong security there knowing something was possible.

The first annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest will be held on Sunday, May 3, at the Curtis Culwell Center, 5-7 pm, CENTRAL TIME, in the Dallas suburb of Garland, Texas. It will be hosted by human rights and free-speech activist Pamela Geller and her organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI).
That's pretty sad. The whole thing sounds like she was trying to push people's buttons.
I get that it seems a bit ridiculous that Muslims aren't accepting of any depictions of Muhammad. However, these cartoons are typically pretty crude.
While militant reactions wouldn't be as likely, Christian groups would be pretty pissed about an event that promotes grotesque cartoons of Jesus.

Not clear yet. Two suspects shot in the parking lot after the event was over. SWAT rushed in telling everyone to move out to another area. Suspects may have had explosives on them.

I didn't see any Christians being violent over "piss Christ." And so non Muslims shouldn't be allowed to provoke or exercise 1st Amendment in the U.S.? Great thinking. LOL.

You must be young. A photographer depicted a crucifix in a jar of his urine, and it was all paid for by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Christians were infuriated and wanted to ensure federal funds wouldn't go to such trash, and were promptly told to shut the eff up by the liberal media.

I'd like to think it was a brilliant tactic to draw out aspiring jihadists/radicals and trick them into getting blown away in their tracks. If so we need more events like this

We should hold daily events and have TX cops shoot the new jihadis like ducks in a row.

Are you really comparing Christians getting pissed to Muslims shooting up the place and trying to kill people.
Bunch of fricking idiots in this thread.

FWIW Pam Geller and Robert Spencer and the like are pretty shitty and come close to "kill all the muslims." Geert Wilder too, who was apparently there?
But should be interesting to see how the media spins this. Kudos to Garland PD

1st Amendment is controversial now- WTF. The maggots of our society will keep eating the media's dead meat.

I bet you the suspects crossed the Messican border unopposed, were given instructions on how to get food stamps and how to sign up for Obamacare.

You aren't very bright. I am comparing the relatively mild reaction of Christians to a photograph of a crucifix in a jar of piss partially funded by the federal government, which led the media to tell Christians to "STFU," to Muslims who kill and maim in their defiance, and the media not knowing whether to shite or go blind so as to not offend anyone, especially Muzzies.
