smartest thing this dude did was request a judge trial. a jury made up by members of that community would have tried to hang him for nothing

How many officers are to be charged?
The officer driving? Maybe a case against that person?
Whoever loaded him in van? Maybe a case?
But none of it is going to be "murder". Some negligent shite went on in there, but murder? Gonna be a stretch IMO for all of them? Some of those cops should lose jobs maybe even some jail or probation, but years inside for murder? Nah.
At least the prosecutors in this case tried to charge him with several things. Giving judge and jury things to work with. Not just MURDER to silence the pissed off masses.
