I'm learning as an outsider but it burns me up. Just doesn't sound like anything we have in Texas.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like anything we have here either. Not sure if there are any other organizations that have such a big taxpayer funded budget and no govt oversight.

Ah the ole LP vs. EBR argument. Couple of mental giants going at it to win the gold medal at the Parish Special Olympics.

This is the crux of the argument when it comes to the tax approval. No government entity has control over this organization. They can misuse $8 million/year and face no repercussions except a bruised reputation

False. COA performs a government function. They are a quasi-public entity.

Up to those with jurisdiction to prosecute

Ever heard of Dramamine?

If we take the "was" price of 4.37 from Walmart and divide 2,600, we get about 594/595 packages. Let's say 525 packages to account for tax.

That's only about 52,500 motion sickness tablets. I'm sure these four "chaperones" provided more services than the on-board doctors/medical personnel could have provided alongside 52,500 motion sickness pills.

I mean, why else would they go?

The next Governor will wipe the EBRCOA off the map-as well they should-and then they will have some cleanup to do. But he's not doing anything for the time being. Terrible.

Have they (allegedly) altered any more checks lately?

If I had to put money on one of the two choices, I would bet on yes they have altered more checks lately.

After reading the title I was sure this thread was a parody written by one of our OT brethren. It's just so absurd.

I wouldn't put Sharon into the NBR cronyism. She (like JBE) is going to just ignore it because of the votes.

According to Marcelle, the ATC's had to look after seniors who got sea sick.
Seriously.

They sent seniors who get sea sick on a sea cruise.

Next up, seniors with fear of heights will go skydiving courtesy of the COA.

They're wide open. SWB etc. just turn the other way with things like this because of the voting bloc. The reason Kip would call these morons out is because he didn't need the votes.

I have no inside scoop but generally (at least in the past), other stations steer clear of exclusive investigative reports that a reporter from another local station worked on. I imagine they are giving Nakamoto props a letting him have the show.
