You're missing out. Our German shepherd is a dork when he sees a mouse and just watches it run by but the cat has caught 2 in 2 days.

It's like a having a mouse roomba.

When someone kicks your door in let me know which you're happier you had.

And order some mouse traps or rat poison off of Amazon.

That German Shepherd will be chasing off burglars, etc. while your cat will be hiding under the bed. They don't waste time on little mice.

My dog would kill your cat and make it a chew toy.

My roommate has a cat and it kills bugs. When I don't want to pick up a bug, I just throw the cat at it.

Ummmm, I don't have fricking mice running around my house like a hillbilly. So no need for a mouse catching cat.

Litter boxes are the most disgusting thing you can have in your home.

So there's that option, or a cat that roams around in the sewers all day and then tracks that shite into your home.

Cats are nasty and selfish. No thanks.

Cats are sociopaths. My dog is my best friend. Capable of compassion and a full spectrum of emotions.

I agree that cats can be very useful outdoors though. They're just never coming in my house. My mom puts cat food on a ledge behind her garage to feed neighborhood strays. That alone has ended her squirrel and mouse problem. No need to bring them indoors, where the golden retriever runs the show.

Stray cats can be assholes too. Ike when they make little cat gangs and start pooping on the sidewalk and scratching up cars.
No one wants a stray cat. And they are too stupid to act sweet and go home with a human.
Dogs are much better at being homeless. They get found and adopted.

My mom has had a few stray cats around our house as long as I can remember and never seen this.

They'll walk on the cars but never scratch them. It's hilarious when you start the engine and they dart out from underneath the engine

ETA:

She buys the super cheap giant bag of dry cat food at Sams and fills the bowl behind the garage like once a week. In return she gets a squirrel or mouse head on the patio once a week

If I had a mouse problem, I'd much rather have a large pet snake to remedy it.

My dog greets me at the door everyday like he hasn't seen me in a year, then he goes to the door so I can let him out to crap outside. A cat (and I have had some) on the other hand, could give a frick whether you ever come home again except that they need someone to empty that awful smelling litterbox when it gets to full for them to shite in.

I am a hell of a lot more likely to have mice than to have that happen. Ill take the cat and my 20 gauge.

Cats kill all the bugs in the house and will leave you alone sometimes. Dogs are needy is shite. Want to go away for a night? Put some cat food down and leave.

It's always a fascinating discussion when comparing two random animals.

Personally I can't stand those goddamn giraffes because I'm too ate up with my love of monkeys.

Besides, anybody who likes giraffes is a gay anyway, amirite? *High five*

Well the two we are discussing are by far the two most domesticated animals on the planet.

Cats are remarkable predators. Very cool animals but extremely dirty and bacteria ridden. Maybe if i had a farm.
