My mom's food tastes really good for the most part (gumbo, chicken stew, grilled chicken, pot roast, spaghetti, ect), but she has gotten super lax with her hygiene in the kitchen, like seriously gross with it. It's a problem.

My SO is a good cook, but what she cooks is completely different from my mother.

I can cook some of my mom's dishes exactly like her (blackened chicken, grilled chicken, Mexican Chicken and rice) and some I do a good version that's just not the same (roast, speghetti). The big thing is that my SO and my mom just want to eat completely different things, and therefor will cook completely different things.

My aunt in Lake Chuck throws down some good meals. My wife learned a lot from my aunt, but it's not the same. My wife is a good cook, so I just roll with it.

My mom can't cook to save her life. Dad can't either.

My wife wins by default.

Mom could cook a lot of stuff. She knows her way around the kitchen, but she never took the time to really learn to perfect anything. There are things she makes that I really like, but I'm probably approaching her skill level (but not her knowledge level).

If anything, while I enjoy my mom's cooking, I probably don't revere it like I once did.

Idk about comforting but it's fricking delicious

This.

My wife's grandmother is the greatest cook I've ever known, and can whip out meals of epic proportion from memory and without measurements.

I gain about 5 lbs every time we go visit her. Can't wait to be there this weekend

Mom's an ok cook who cooks three great dishes(gumbo, chicken pot pie, chicken n dumplings) and she rarely cooks them. That being said, fiancé is a terrible cook so mom wins.

My mother was not that great of a good cook. I had an aunt on my father's side of the family who was, but my father wisely warned me to never mention it in the presence of my mother.

Would up marrying someone who was not a good cook. I wound up being the chef. The kids loved it when I cooked on the weekends.

I also had a great aunt on my mother's side who took her chicken and dumplings recipe to the grave. Woman cooked it the best of anyone.

My mom seemed like a good cook when I was a kid, but now that I've grown up and gotten married, my wife and mother-in-law have opened my eyes to great cooking. Sorry mom.

My Mom is a very untalented cook, she doesn't season anything, and she doesn't use peppers, onions, celery or garlic very much in her cooking.
According to some people, she does make great Potato salad, but I hate potato salad.

Grandmother can't cook for shite. If it were up to her, we would eat cheese and crackers every night. My mother on the other hand is a great cook and so is my girlfriend. My girlfriend could soon pass my mother up for best cook. Either way, I'm a winner
