If Eve wouldn't have eaten the apple
Side point, but we don't know what type of fruit it was. Apple comes from a pun in Latin. The Latin word for evil is mal and the word for apple is malum.
The fruit is never named in the Bible.

Could you imagine if it actually WAS Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve????? Whole human race would have never even got started. But at least the gay marriage argument would have been easier. So its kind of a give and take scenario.
But in all seriousness, I grew up in a very religious, catholic household. I've never taken any bible stories as anything more than stories to teach a moral lesson. Especially when referring to the old testament. Even the new testament books were written second hand, years after, and translated by different powers that be throughout history. The basics still may shine through, but half of it was twisted up. The king james bible was completed in the 1600s! You don't think some manipulation went into writing that??? You think they had fist hand knowledge some 1600 years later to make the calls on how they "translated" it for the Church of England? Take the stories for there lessons, not as a history. The new testament is based from historical events that evidence exists that they happened, but that doesn't mean every book tells it 100% accurately

Would we still be here today?
Yes, and everyone would be walking around naked. Then we would see he really measured up to being on the OT.

Wait, so you're saying that a Catholic school taught it as a story and not non-fiction? That's a first in my book and I'm not even Catholic.
You never learned that Christianity was formed with its own traditions? It's not exactly been a secret that the OT is a Jewish story book. While it documents some of their history it also includes many Fabels.
Are you a Christian that follows Jewish dietary restrictions? Why not? It's in the bible after all.

I think of it as a Parable,or story,about the sinful nature of man.
About temptation.Even tough Adam and Eve lived in a paradise,the nature of man allowed them to risk it all,and lose it all.

The way my pastor preached it, if it wasn't Adam or Eve, it would have been {insert your own name}
