I remember when I didn't have anything really going on in life as well.

Sounds like #1 on the list of "Who not to invite to a football party."

You're so cool though.

My girlfriend and I always watch the games together. We go to the Badger bar for our game and the Michigan bar for hers. She's more dialed in to the goings on with Michigan football than I am with UW, and that's saying something.

And we do talk during the games. That's part of the fun of being at the bar with other fans...being able to interact/cheer/talk about things.

My SO is an LSU fan. Luckily for me, LSU hasn't won a game against Bama since the first one we went to (9-6). We're both pretty cordial about it. I've gone to a few LSU games with her and I'll root for them when they aren't playing Bama.

you're missing out man.... I may not be dialed into a conversation during big plays or moments, but football season gets us excited. We have a blast going to different bars and chilling for the game.... it's also kinda nice to have someone to talk to and joke with if the game is going to shite...

also....you're an arse.

You don't talk to anyone at all when watching football? That's very strange.

She laughed nervously.

That was her envisioning a post Bama-loss domestic abuse incident that is likely in her future if she sticks with your pathetic arse.

OP isn't alone, there are plenty of rednecks here who share similar sentiments about watching games. frickin' weird.

You'll regret having this ridiculous mindset at some point.

You do realize it's a really good thing if your SO is willfully hanging out with you while watching football, right?

Well we act like adults. She doesn't have much of an interest but will watch the games with me while reading or playing on her phone. She'll ask a question and I'll answer her. Once the game (LSU or Saints) is over, we then go about our weekend.

This is a frickin' weird thing to say in a thread where the OP was almost unanimously blasted for his sentiments.
