Only one real answer. Payday candy bar. You can leave one of those bad boys out unwrapped on the counter for a week and peanuts will be softer than fresh, but it will taste the same.

When I was a kid and got marshmallow Peeps for Easter, I used to open the packages and let them sit out a few days. Once they were stale, the texture changed to a much more enjoyable chewiness.
