a group of guys in high school had a band and played in the gym for activity hour. They played rock, and all the black kids booed. They proceeded to play a Foghat song, but changed the lyrics to "I just wanna make possum stew". The concert was quickly canceled due to the threat of mob violence. LOL

So, all in all, I'd say that between Roger Earl and Bryan Bassett, you have enough of the group left standing. But, hater's are gonna hate. Just go, enjoy the music and appreciate the fact that rock and blues are still alive

This isn’t directed at you or Foghat specifically, but at what point does losing original/main members of a band turn the band into more of a tribute band?

Saw them around 77/78 in BR. Jay Ferguson (Thunder Island) was the warmup.

The lead Guitar player, Bryan Bassett, has been with the band since 1999

Rod Price says hello. He was one of the best slide guitarists in rock and roll history and was the original lead guitarist.

Missing Lonesome Dave as Bassist and Lead Vocalist greatly changes the sound of the band.

I saw this band prolly 10 times in their prime. One of the loudest and hardest rocking live bands from the 70's. This lineup is a glorified tribute band, but for someone who likes the songs and never had a chance to see the original lineup, go get you some.

I was 15 and in the 10th grade. Walked to the Warehouse from downtown, under the Mississippi River Bridge and bought a ticket, walked back to downtown, hitchhiked later that day for the concert, then walked back en masse late that night.

It was a lot of walking. From Canal Street I kept going left (north) up N.Peter St. because I thought the Warehouse must be in the Quarter. Turning right at Canal, which went south, the road became Tchoupitoulas Street which eventually led to the Warehouse. Opposite end of the world from the French Quarter.

Damn, good thing you were not high, that is an epic adventure.
