You don't see anything offensive about two adults having sex in broad daylight in front of young children? This is one of the exact reasons the registry was made. Had they been labelled as sex offenders for doing it on the beach at 2AM, I might agree with you. But that's not what happened here.

The supposed purpose of the sex offender registry was to protect children against predators. They aren't predators. This defeats the effectiveness of sex offender registration.

Sorry but they are predators in my book. What they did was dumb, I don't want to be taking my kids to a beach and have to worry about them seeing people getting it on on the beach.

They obviously aren't predators, but it's definitely right to make them register. They're adults and should know public sex is illegal, and especially sick when kids are around.

sure. that's why it's a crime
it's not a sex offense requiring registration. what, exactly, do you think is the point of the sex offender registry? when these people have to announce their status in the paper and go door to door, do you think it's to warn parents they once got caught fricking on a beach? unless they move to a land where all residential areas are on the beach, i don't think the children in their neighborhood are in danger

The 3 yr old that saw them has no idea what was going on.
They should have to pay like a $1500 fine and that's it. Registering as sex offenders for that is crazy.
