Flies up North are slower than flies down South

I'm currently working in Montana....and everytime I see a house fly up here I kill it very easily. I can usually just swat at it with my hand or snatch it with one hand Mr. Miyagi style. This shite is impossible in Mississippi. Down there you have to have a fly swatter.
