So I started golfing about 3 weeks ago and I'm doing pretty damn good. I've been going consistently and golfed a 93 on Saturday. I can not seem to fix my slice on my drives though. I've watched quite a few videos and can't seem to change it. Anyone know any practices to make me not slice as often?

I'm very very good with a pitching wedge and most of my irons for a beginner. You don't have to believe me though.

I've actually began to just swing towards the left to compensate for my slice until I fix it.

I actually believe him. I shot better than that after three weeks of first playing golf. ON A NINE HOLE COURSE.

Lol. I used to think I was shooting mid 90s too. Then I stopped moving the ball & hitting second shots. Now after all that time, I NOW shoot mid 90s. I earn my 95 now! Lol

Go get 4-5 lessons. No telling what you're doing wrong. Wish I would have done that bf developing my bad habits.

I did this. It's the only answer. There's so many things he could be doing to cause it. There's no way to give good advice without seeing it. And EVERYBODY you play with will give you some little trick that'll prolly mess you up more than help it. I have/had a huge slice. I supinate my left hand a little too much. I pronate it just a tad & BAM, fixed the slice. I don't like messing with the club or my back foot or whatever else. I think that just puts a bandaid on a bigger problem

I'll qualify all this by sayin I've only been playing for 9 months so my advice may not be worth much

One thing causes a slice...an open club face at impact. Many things could cause your club face to be open at impact, and no one can tell you what to do without seeing your swing. Get a lesson or two.

if you're right handed...turn your left handed clockwise a bit on your grip. it's a little awkward at first, but you're welcome

Anyone know where to get some golf lessons around Lake Chuck? I'll be around Lake Charles for an internship all summer long
