A marathon has robe more than 35k ... I had 44k a few weeks ago when I walked 36 holes on the golf course. I think I had 22 miles that day.

Again... Walking =\= running. 22 miles walking at 1 step per yard puts you at about 38k. But you stride much further than that during a run or even a jog

An 8.4 mile run worked out at 10,078 steps on one pedometer and 11,280 on the other. Strangely they were identical pedometers, so I'm surprised at such a difference. I'm going to repeat the exercise tomorrow to see if the same happens.

So take an average of say 10,600 and that works out at 1262 steps per mile, just over 4ft 2in (or 1.27 metres) per step A marathon then would be about 33,000 steps.

OK this is for me - I'm about 5ft 9 - someone with longer or shorter legs would get a different answer, but maybe not desperately different.

36,000+ steps. I think I had a little over 5000 calories burned that day. At least according to Fitbit.

Fitbit's not very accurate, particularly if you're on a treadmill walking at a good clip or running.

My best was 16K and I think it missed quite a few steps.

My sister sent me one for my bd a couple of months ago. Looks gay and complicated. It is still in the box.

Which one of their devices? They have a few of them.

I've found the HR to be pretty accurate, but you can always calibrate it.

Very accurate on sleep tracking too

Best days...
Steps: 32138
Floors: 262

Same day. It was a 20km run with about 700 meters of hill work built in.

I find my fitbit to be accurate enough. I've checked it against my Garmin for long runs, and they are withing a couple % of each other.
