BRPD Shot Spotter system is reporting them as fireworks in the 6900 block of Harry Drive.

This is my topic to post about. Nobody else gets the privalage to talk about gunshots being heard in BR.

The shot spotter sends an alert to police when it detects the sound of a gunshot nearby. East Baton Rouge Parish pays $30,000 a year to keep crime cameras and shot spotters running. The cost has put the tools under fire in the past from Metro Council members who questioned their effectiveness.

I heard em too. Sounded like they were a couple blocks away.

Then I got distracted and forgot about it.

Why would you need expensive equipment to spot a gunshot from 30 meters away?

It's so when you are not in the area, it picks up and points to where the gunshots were fired hence the name "shot spotter"
