One of the most crooked Louisiana politicians in modern times. I hope he ends up in jail. It is an utter embarrassment that he leads our state senate.

The Louisiana Purchased documentary Lee Zurik did highlighted his campaign finances and spending--Alario was one of the biggest abusers of the crooked lot.

Fast Eddie laughs at this guy and calls him an amateur. A little campaign money misspent? Peanuts. Try getting gambling approved statewide and then selling all of the licenses for personal profit.

Gambling is still illegal in Louisiana. You must call it "gaming".
Also, John Alario was EWE's right hand man. The gaming bill got passed out of the House due to underhanded tactics with the voting machines by Alario.

I know nothing concrete about Alario, but I'd imagine it's hard to stay as powerful as he has for 30 years without at least embracing the gray areas.
