I am very glad I wasnt a teenager or young adult in the 80's, definitley the worst decade ever for music.

rap gets more popular with every ensuing decade

ergo, every ensuing decade is the worst for music

Yea, the 80s sucked in many areas, i.e. cars, clothes, but music wasn't one of them.

You are saying that hair rock was as good as music in the 60's or 70's?

I never would've guessed you loved that music. I hear round and round all the time on 80s on 8. I know we are biased but the 80s ruled.

Rap was started in the 80's, just more proof of how bad the 80's were/

I agree the 80's music along with the music videos make it very unique and I am damn proud I was able to grow up with it.

It started in the '70s (actually it started in Jamaica in the '60s and can be traced back to at least the '20s, but let's not even go there)

Yup. All that synthesizer keyboard based syntho pop crap. Then there were the hair bands. 70's was a great run. Led Zeppelin, Stones at their peak, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, some great prog rock, and a bunch of great metal bands like Sabbath and Priest. That didn't happen in the 80's although I am sure someone will scream Michael Jackson or Prince.

Nirvana was liberation.
