I get you there. I am not going to say otherwise. I will further say that yes, I was likely abused in that fashion as well. However, it would have been a heck of a lot worse had I also been physically abused.
And personally I think these studies tend to overstate the emotional damage.

yeah, I had a few instances of physical abuse too. But only a handful of times, and only one that was really bad.

Really? You think so? Why would a study want to tell people what they want to hear so they can reaffirm their position as a victim?
Yeah I guess it would immediately become popular and well spread because people would quote it and share it to reinforce their own ideas of how hard their life is. But other than that, I couldn't see why they would do that.
