I'm seeing a new trend of certain middle aged (under 60) women not even particularly overweight with no sign of disability using the electric scooters at the grocery store, are we really at the point where people are too lazy to shop?

Yes, many people are too lazy to walk nowadays. I mostly see fat women riding around in them.

I rarely see this phenomenon in person, even with fat people. Am I the only one?

ETA- I don't live in the Deep South anymore... That's probably it.

Saw three people using them at Walmart earlier. Two were quite old. One was just fat.

See that all the time, these were three younger not obese black females shopping together riding around, I saw them get up to hit up the cheese bar samples

Or they could have, you know, real medical illnesses that aren't visible to the naked eye. Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, MS, etc.

My wife had to ride when she had a dvt and a bilateral embolism.

Sometimes people have issues you don't see.

Maybe they have other disabilities? My dad looks perfectly normal, but has arthritis so bad it's hard for him to walk long distances.

There are many communities* in the US where just about everyone behaves. Most of them aren't in the Deep South. Not complaining, just pointing this fact out. They are refreshing to witness.

*Shreveport/Bossier is not nearly one of them.

There is a new propane powered cart being used now in some stores; visualize something similar to forklift w/o
the forks, fwiw.
