I can promise you, if it had a negative effect on my property, I'd slice it wide open with a box cutter - tonight!

Was thinking the same thing. Sneak over there in the cover of darkness...slice away...sneak back.

In 16 Bayou Fountain backed up to at least behind the Albertsons on Bluebonnet. The USGS gauge at Bluebonnet overtopped and broke. Burbank at Siegen was under for a while. Those aqua dams could potentially push high water way past CCL. A lot of those neighborhoods along Highland drain into Bayou Fountain.

So, because they are smart enough to prevent a disaster for themselves, out city officials start crying?

I've negotiated with attorneys, politicians in charge of state agencies, and businessmen from the local level on up to major corporations deciding who's building yards in third world countries.

Mitchell may not always look it; he may not always sound like it; but he is one sharp old bastard.

He didn't make that move without researching it fully and knowing damned good and well EBR was going to react before seeing if they had a leg to stand on.

We need an aqua tunnel to Spanish Lake from our side.

Lawsuits won’t stop the aqua dams being deployed. East Baton Rouge has no say in Iberville putting them on the street.

You must live in the Uclub. You should have bought flood insurance.

I live in Springlake/Fairhil, and I am concerned about flooding in my neighborhood this go around.

There is no doubt the breach along Alligator Bayou Road helped Uclub and my neighborhood in '16. Just how much I don't know.

Does anyone with knowledge of the hydrology of the area know how the predicted crests could impact my area? Not sure if I need to be watching Bayou Fountain gauge or Amite at Bayou Manchac.

I also think somebody from Uclub will sabotage that aqua damn if need be to keep that area from flooding.

You have obviously never flooded if you think having insurance makes everything all better.

Getting flooded is a shite show and even with insurance you are never made whole.

Will the new diversion project north of BR help with this area in any way? If they EVER complete it.

Are the courts even open today? Is EBR looking for some sort of injunction or order to have the dams removed? If I recall correctly, the Iberville president has said in the past he was going to do this. Is this the first time the dams have gone up?

Watch both. The gauge at Bluebonnet should be a better indicator on wether you get water. But the gauge at Amite and Manchac should be a better indicator of how the watershed is handling everything and if backwater flooding is going to be an issue.

No. They rolled them out in 2017 for TS Cindy.
