Dumb fb question/post of the day: The art of "poking"

First of all, I have never poked someone on fb. I think it is rather dumb.
Secondly, I used to receive notifications years ago when someone would poke me. I think I remember the notifications listing the pokers' names. Am I imagining this part?
Last of all, I had a notification earlier that said I had 6 pokes today. That is all it said. Is there not a way to see who these people are? I didn't know that poking someone was still an option.

If it was just one or two people, it would include the names in the notification. You have to click the notification and it brings up the list of 6 people. I think the number is the running tally since you last checked, you probably got one yesterday and the 5 previous ones were included in the notification.
Poking seems semi-retired. It used to be a much more conspicuous option on the pages.

What really used to piss me off was when people would send me sheep from FarmVille. They knew they were making sacrifices to some unnamed Internet god because I definitely wasn't using those sheep
