I don't have an answer. My secretary just calls the pilot and the helicopter picks me up to fly me uptown to my penthouse. I can't remember the last time my feet have hit the pavement in NYC

Correct. The alpha assumes role of "captain" in most situations, and will not leave the elevator until all others have exited.

To avoid the 5 second delay of both waiting or both going and then dancing around, I prefer to just command them to exit before me. Plus, I really don't like anyone following me too closely.

I wouldn't go to the rear, I would just slide to the side opposite the buttons....so I would get out first.

Whoever makes the first move. No hard feelings. However, I usually position myself towards the door to exit first anyway.

eta: I also work on the 2nd floor so I take the stairs anyway.
