We need a "I hate it when people drive with their hazards on" board.

You people bitch about this every time it rains.

Have no problem with it. If an emergency and NEED to get somewhere fast, put hazard on so people recognize and get out of the way. If bad weather with low visibility, put hazard on to increase safety.

Lets me know which cars to avoid, though it grinds my gears when they get in front of me and slow down with the flashers.

Some people think it makes it safer.

The real geniuses are the ones that have no lights on except the flashers.

I really would like to see the German rear fog light made standard equipment. Those things make cars stand out in bad weather.

So if someone is driving 15mph below the limit on a doughnut spare, they shouldn't try to warn your dumb fricking arse overtaking them at 15mph over?

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. Please tell me why it upsets you so much.

That is an actual emergency, not "I'm scared to drive in the rain".

If the rain is that bad and you don't feel safe, pull over for the safety of others.

I'm curious as well. If someone is driving well under the speed limits in difficult driving conditions, I don't mind knowing when I come up behind them

ETA: driving really slow is a "hazard" IMO...but I agree I'd rather the drivers just pulled off the road until they feel safe to drive again

it's a pet peeve.

It's like asking a user on the Outdoor board why saying clip instead of magazine triggers so many people.

This is why we keep needing these threads.

It is incredibly unsafe to drive with your hazards on in low visibility. They're reserved for vehicles on the shoulder of the road, not vehicles in the actual road. Vehicles approaching from behind have a difficult time telling whether your in a travel lane or on the shoulder when you've got your hazards on.

Simply don't do it unless you're on the side of the road and/or involved in an accident in the travel lane where you cannot move the vehicle.

I see your point, but let's say you're not scared and don't trust others due to the low visibility. What's the downside of using hazards to decrease the likelihood of them it seeing you?

Do I really need to explain this to you?

I tell you what, go outside and turn on your stupid hazard lights and then try to use your turn signals and/or brake lights.

Above all else, it's illegal.

It's against the law! It is for emergency purposes only and if you feel the weather is unsafe while driving the correct maneuver would be to pull over on to the shoulder or exit road way till you deem it safe to drive. Not to cause congestion on a roadway in when it rains.

So it causes drivers to slow down during hazardous conditions? Oh the horror!!!!!!
