Saturday afternoon early evening I have a fantasy football draft. I am of course texting this in. I was wondering where the OT may suggest to sit and have a beer and do this. Decent sports bar? Has to be walking distance or short shuttle ride from Magnolia Hotel.

Decent beer selection or cocktails. But sports bar type too. Saw a "South African Sportsbar" called Springbok?

How's that? Or any other selections.

I want low key since the wife and I will be going to eat later and out. Don't want to be sloshed. That's the plan anyway.

Mongoose vs Cobra and Pastry War are cool bars but not "sports" bars.

You're literally across the street from the saucer.

Just Uber it to Lucky's. Might even be able to pick up a 3rd for you and the wifey

I am asking pretty detailed questions though. 10-15+ years ago downtown was just a place you went to watch the Astros and try not to get stabbed leaving. It is now huge and bars turn over quite a bit.

Downtown has changed so much it is like driving somewhere different in just 25 minutes.

I'd say Saucer, but if you want sports bar, just take a cab ride over to Lucky's Pub

Okra, The Pastry War, Hearsay, MKT Bar, Bad News Bar and La Carafe. Not all sports bars but these are the ones that are the best IMHO
