You must’ve gotten that from cnn because that isn’t what she said. She did mention white privilege but not in that context.

And sorry, just because someone doesn’t agree with you or says something you don’t like - does not mean they are dumb

She’s definitely not dumb, but she is heavily influenced by her political beliefs which is not something that is ideal for someone in her position

Saying she has benefited from white privilege or has never had to worry about money isnt me calling her names. I stated she can be smart and still not know everything and make bad decisions.

I can also see the irony of someone benefiting from said privilege and getting a degree you said she felt she cant help people with, or not in the way she wants. While these people lecture the rest of us or pretend to know whats best for us.

She did say this however “If you are planning an uncontrolled gathering or a party for 100 people, look at that guest list and decide which seven of them you’d be comfortable sentencing to death,” Avegno said

A block party of 100 in New Orleans. I think her estimates are probably accurate as an ER doctor. Did she specify Corona or gunshot wounds?

I agree - but her job, unfortunately, is political - whether or not it should be is irrelevant at this point

She’s out of her league and doing a job she’s not qualified for

It’s like a EMT/Ambulance Driver trying to do the job of an ER Doctor

this was about graduation parties and people going to tigerland in june. And of course the threat of heavier restrictions from her.

quote:

According to a statement from the City of New Orleans, a cluster of new COVID-19 cases appears to have emerged from a large high school graduation party and from a large gathering outside the bars at Tigerland in Baton Rouge. Avegno said Saturday that at least 100 cases had been tied to the Tigerland cluster, although not all were in New Orleans.

quote:

Avegno said the "dangerous trends" could lead to drastic action, including a return to phase 1 or even a second shutdown. "If these trends continue, we may need to go back to more serious restrictions on activity," she said.

you cant fault people for hearing what she says and thinking shes an issue

But city leaders say travelers likely were not bringing the corona virus with them to Louisiana. “The world is global we certainly have a lot of travelers but so do many other cities,” said Jennifer Avegno, New Orleans Health Department Director. Avegno explained how the CDC monitors travelers coming into the us from considered hot-spots, and those travelers are routed to specific airports. MSY is not one of those airports. Not only that, she says the Coast Guard also rigorously screens travelers coming in on cruise ships and other water-bound vessels. “At this point there's no heightened danger to us in New Orleans or in the region,” said Avegno.

ooh yeah im just going to leave this one here. This was before we shut down.

So ... you're going to argue with a quote from Dr. Avegno from February ... from the day after Mardi Gras where there were no known cases in NOLA at the time. There were only 14 diagnosed cases in the US, along with 39 that had been repatriated from cruise ships.

THEN you're going to argue your case about white privilege with a quote from Joe Biden. The guy that said "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black"

Didn't know old Joe was a race expert. Although he did say he attend a HBCU, and that he was running for the Senate.

WOW.

Avegno, Coney-Barrett, and I have benefited from this - and trust me - just because you don’t like who she is it doesn’t mean whatever picture you have painted of her in your mind is correct
She blamed the spread of covid on white privelage

She said if you have a party with 100 people, 7 are guaranteed to die

Either Avegno is a complete idiot, like a complete idiot to think that, or she lies at an unreal level to lock people down and ruin their live from some psychotic addiction

Your pick

This is what Avegno said:

quote:

But, if you are white and privileged, COVID-19 is still coming for you, and to act irresponsibly because you think you may be safe is unconscionable during a pandemic.

This is what Avegno said:

Would you also like to address the fact a freaking doctor alluded to a party of 100 people guaranteeing the death of 7?

Its ridiculous. To me, Avegno is more evil than Latoya. Latoya is just a dumbass, Avegno isnt. She knows the truth, and still twists and distorts it to support these ridiculous lockdowns

Also, here is the full quote. Notice how its only white that are privileged, and only the white acting irresponsible . She is a joke

quote:

"There is also a misconception that this is a disease only affecting communities of color. It is true that our black and Hispanic residents have faced a disproportionate burden of disease and death so far, and eliminating those inequities remains a focus of the City and Health Department response. But, if you are white and privileged, COVID-19 is still coming for you, and to act irresponsibly because you think you may be safe is unconscionable during a pandemic.

No offense, but it’s one thing being a “lackey” for a more experienced doctor/engineer/lawyer/et al. It’s another thing being a “lackey” for someone not in your field of expertise. She is supposed to be the expert and guide the medical management. Why would she be swayed at all by the mayor? It’s one thing to be persuaded by a superior in your field of study. It’s spineless to be persuaded by a mayor without any medical training, when you are supposed to be the expert.
