Hate him or love him. That's a true leader. He went down there because nobody cared or was covering the flood. Because of him, people are finally concerned and talking about it. Our Church sent 4 truckloads of food, aide, etc and was able to raise over $50,000 to send to Louisiana (yes, I attend a very large Church)

I honestly had no idea that the flood was as bad as it until it started getting mentioned after the Trump visit.

To me, it is still summer, I am busy with things and not paying much attention, but Trump was the one who opened my eyes about how horrible the situation is there.

God bless everyone in the great state of Louisiana and I pray for your communities every single day.

Would you be saying the same thing if it were Hillary that visited first? Somehow I doubt that. You always gravitate towards the candidate you support anyway and change the narrative to suit that candidate.

If it were Hillary, it is a photo op. But since it's Trump he is a great man acting in a selfless way.

Since she and Obama couldn't be bothered, I guess we'll never know, now will we?

At some level of course he was. He was also showing leadership in trying to bring awareness to the area.

If Trump had not come here, Obama/Hilary/Liberal Media would never have given LA a second thought.

Compared to O and HRC, he's the only leader we have.

I would. I don't care what party they're with.

I hate most politicians.
I definitely would give Hillary credit if she brought the media to realize what they missed.
I generally don't approve of political grand standing during disasters. The problem here is the media and government missed the magnitude of this weather event.

I'm hoping Trump started a bidding war. Obama will come down here and have to cover his golf vacation media blunder. I think he will pony up some serious federal aid. Especially since JBE got elected. I think the Dems see LA in play for the election.

What will be fun to watch is Hillary. Will she be forced to drop some "Clinton Foundation" money on the victims? Will Hillary step up?

I commend Trump for going to south LA and forcing the hand of Hillary. Also for his donations.

But I have no idea why everyone keeps saying the media was not reporting on the flood. I saw coverage on national news every night. Even ESPN did several segments on it.

Where is Tom Rinaldi?

That dude hasn't done a special interest piece on the flood yet.

Maybe it'll come before, during, and after the Wisconsin game.
